Napoleonic - The French

Feared... loved... loathed... reviled yet his soldiers would follow him to the ends of the Earth!
 
Napoleon's line infantry combined the discipline and steadiness of the Ancien Regime's regular army with the revolutionary spirit of the new forces.
 
Each battalion was comprised of one company of Grenadiers, seven companies of Fusiliers (riflemen) and one other of Voltigeurs (skirmishers). Four battalions made up a regiment.
